Two former Chakri Dynasty kings, Rama VI and Rama IX, are connected to this temple as a final resting place, with Rama IX's ashes kept under the base of the main shrine statues, and its murals were among the first in Bangkok to use Western perspective, painted by monk artist Khrua In Khong.
