Its centuries-old ordination hall is entirely encased in the thick roots of a giant banyan tree, a genuine Unseen Thailand sight where the tree literally holds the building together. The riverside grounds also mark a historic Ayutthaya-era army camp with old warrior statues, so it reads as part living temple and part relic, an easy free stop that few tour buses reach.
